Greetings.

My name is Ragi Bjarnylr (or warm bear) and this is my place to introduce you to who and what I am about. For those of you who are interested in knowing how I came be who I am then please read on. Should you be interested in traditional archery then I would be Honored to introduce you to the Isle du Dragon Dormant's Archery company. For now you can head over to our main and arguably official shire site .

I joined the SCA (Society For Creative Anachronism) to have access to an archery range a few years back when Rook was still around. He brought me in and Then the bugger moved away to the south with his wooman (Sorry Chrysty but I had to). I had been toying with the idea of a Scottish personna as I am of Scottish heritage but there are just too bloody many Scots as it is. Me being me I had to be different so I went another way.

I am a 6th century Scandinavian and I just recently came here from what will eventually be called central germany following the migrations of the people throughout this region. I have started a small farm for my wife in the southern lands of the Danish King while I ply my wares along the coast all the way to the land of the Berbers and beyond to where live men whose faces are as black as night.

My philosophy for Ragi is that he is as far from "official" Nobility as he can get. Reasoning that Nobility is earned, not inherited, I figure that most current nobles got that way because it was inherited from some past ancestor's deeds, someone who would not be allowed into the house if met today more than likely.

Recently I was given my Award of Arms, making me now a noble, in terms of the SCA anyway, but I think I earned it and I hope to continue to do so.

I am an archer and I sell the best bowstrings and leather goods to be had in the north. Our northern Flax and hemp are of a better quality after all than those of the south and my wife knows the secrets of spinning and weaving a better bowstring. With the fighting going on between the Angles, Saxons and Britons, I should be able to make a tidy profit on my wares so that is where I am off to next.

I am a founding member of The house of the Broken axe and have worked hard to measure up to that honor.

My wife is Kolfinna Freyasdottir (or Coldfeet as I like to call her) and her story is, like my own, a long one. Ask her about it sometime and she may tell the tale over a large glass of blueberry mead, which you bought, because it is only fair.
