Leather

One thing everybody who is into historical recreation style hobbies needs is leather goods, from bags to pouches to quivers to bracers to belts and sheaths. In the SCA, leather armour is also a big thing and so we are working to provide the essentials at a reasonable price.

We are honored to be able to make available to you the skills of a couple of local Leather craftsman.

Mafety Magas who has been serving the local recreation and motor cycling groups for years now and we think he can make you something you'll like.

Lord Ragi Warmbear (sometimes known as RJ Bachner, when it can't be helped) will be offering his own designs for such things as quivers and bracers designed for the bigger folks out there.

They both have their own, unique styles when working leather so we are sure that we have something that suits your tastes and budget. Maf's touch appeals to a more finished and fancier crowd where as Ragi strives for a simpler, journeyman look in all he does whether it be in leather goods , arrows or chainmaill.

ESSENTIALS:
Belts, pouches, bags and more.... Since just about everyone wears a belt and carried stuff around with them at events, these seem to be about the most essential things we can carry. I mean face it, tunics and gowns may cut a fine figure but they do not have pockets so the wallet and other stuff has to go somewhere.

BELTS:
We can provide either plain belt stock for the do it yourself or hand made belts as you need them. let us know what you need and we can find you something to make you happy. All our stock starts out as 6 foot lengths so we can belt anyone.

POUCHES:
We carry 3 standard sizes of pouches made from either nice light weight leather or canvas, other materials may be possible upon request but we will need to work that out as it goes. All our pouches are closed with a leather drawstring and a rather ingenious close of our own design that keeps your stuff in the pouch without having to tie it shut.

BAGS:
I have found that more than anything else in my kit bag, my shoulder scripts and belt bags have proven the most useful and popular. I wear my script in public most of time no matter where I go and folks ask where I got it all the time. ( we all try to fit some aspects of medieval life into our mundane existence, don't we.)

ACCESSORIES:

BRACERS:
Nothing tops off M'lords new tunic like a set of bracers, they accent the strength of mighty thews or in some cases are all that is keeping his weakling wrists from dumping his mug 'o mead. :) We have found that generic sizes here do not work all that well or look good for that matter so if you want a pair of bracers, We will custom make them for you though colors will depend on what we can get at the time. If you have a cool idea for a design, we are always open to suggestions.

ARCHERY BRACERS:
All our archery bracers are made from a heavier weight leather than our garb style bracers and are thoroughly tested to make sure they will stand up to the slap of a string. Give us your measurements and we will be happy to provide.

Our favorite style is one where it is buckled on rather than laced, we find it easier to put it on one handed and there is no pulling the hair on your arm.

QUIVERS:
For SCA archery, back quivers are the standard and fastest methods of shooting royal rounds and whatnot, though some folks insist they like other styles better you almost never see them in the higher ranks. Our Favorite is a modified American traditional back quiver designed by Lord Ragi himself and tested for over 5 years, we can however, make whatever you want, need or crave. Give us a shout and we will be happy to discuss it with you.
